Q: I don't want to tow vehicles from our lot but we have a parking problem, can you help? A: YES. Since police and parking authorities can't issue tickets on private properties in Princeton or any surrounding community, we can sit down and help you with a cost-effective solution that provides tickets, or warnings. We can monitor the lots for you. Tickets can be issued and they have to pay you (or us). Warnings can be issued and after a certain amount of time, or number of warnings, then we tow. There are a big number of varied solutions.
Q: Do we have to be present for every tow? A: No. Upon signing the contract, you will authorize us to either patrol the lot, or have a designated person(s) authorize the tow to be completed. If no contract is signed with our company, you will have to fill out a form for each vehicle to be towed and present to sign. A contract is the easiest and quickest solution.
Q: Why is towing necessary? A: For Businesses in Princeton, apartments, or event single family homes, people who take up parking spots/spaces that are not in your establishment, take spots from paying customers whether the "paying customer" is a tenant or patron of your establishment. Apartments tow because tenants, along with rent, pay for a spot to park.
Q: Who is responsible for the vehicle once towed? A: We are 100%. Once that vehicle is touched by one of our trucks or drivers, MN law states that it's in our custody (Mechanics Lien applies) and anything that happens to the vehicle or with the vehicle, is our full responsibility. We worry about collecting the payment, the proper state notifications required by law, and dealing with the customer.
Q: How do you deal with a mad customer? A: Our driver(s) are trained how to defuse a hostile situation and ease a customer's hostility. In some cases, when a person is determined to create a scene, there's nothing we can do. The good thing, the "scene" happens at our lot, not yours. But in most cases, a hostile customer can be turned into a calm, and even at times, a happy customer. We never place blame onto the establishments we tow from. This only leads to continued anger and re-directed. We want the customer to understand what happened, but most of all, the customer to know why things happened and what can be done in the future to ensure that they don't get towed again. And this may even be letting them know that now we have their vehicle information and phone number and may try to contact them before they get towed to avoid this situation again. However, about 95% of the time, we do not tow the same person twice from the same establishment.
